Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura representing Zamfara North Senatorial District says he will construct Rural Grazing Area for herders in his constituency as part of his efforts to complement the government’s efforts in tackling insecurity in the state.

“I came up with the project inline with my policy to support government in addressing the lingering security challenges facing the state.
“We believe this will help in addressing the crisis between herders and farmers and promote the long existing cordial relationship between the two bodies.
“Specific area is to be reserved for herders to feeds their animals with all available animal grasses, water and shelter for the herders with other requirements for the survivals of them and their animals,”, he said.
“This will limit the herders movements from one place to another or from one state to another even outside the country.
“You know Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle had initiated a similar project in Maradun local government area of the state aim to address the security challenges facing the state,” the Senator explained.
Meanwhile, the Principal Consultant to the project and CEO, AMSAC Development Consult, Dr Abdullahi Maiwada described the project as a timely and welcome development.
