Matawalle Deserves Accolades As Rugga Project Reached 80% Completion

Rugga, in Zamfara settlement plan, was firstly and famously introduced by the Nigerian Government in the year 2019 in order to put a lasting solution, and indeed, to the persistent and incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers. More so, the plan was met by a widespread rejection which had, eventually, made President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend it.

The accession of Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun to the mantle leadership of Zamfara state in the year 2020, however, became a turning point in the history of Zamfara state; even though, his administration has inherited banditry, kidnappings, insecurity among other challenges, but with the spirit of statesmanship, commitments and, most importantly, tolerance, he is working tiresly in transforming Zamfara State and, in addition, some neighbouring states from the quagmire of insecurity.

Some of the momentous change that we are witnessing in the state was associated with the acceptance of the Rugga plan, unanimously, as a way to not only solve the herdsmen/farmers clashes but also to foster peace and engender social and economic development in the state.

Hence, the achievement of his goal in transforming Zamfara from the shackles of insecurity into, If I may say, one of the peaceful states. It is well known that Gov. Matawalle, in his relentless efforts to bring a lasting solution to the lingering insecurity in the state, he had spent billions of naira for the construction of modern Ruga settlements in the state which situated in each of the three senatorial zones we have.

Quensequently, each settlement is fitted with two and three bedroom houses, western and Islamiyya schools, earth dams, mini stadium, grazing lands and mosques. Other facilities include police stations, 130 shops and mini markets, livestock markets, dairy collection and social centres, roads and drainages among others. It is also equipped with water systems supported by overhead tanks and underground reservoir that can store two million and 21 million liters of water respectively.

The activity also witnesses medical outreach to both Fulanis and their animals throughout the state. The  list is endless. Only the enemies of progress who may hardly think beyond their nose would not be happy that Zamfara is not on fire and fueling the infernal lies that the government was not doing well in terms of security situation in the state.

In addition, Matawallen Maradun is the first Governor who possesses  many excellent qualities which made him stand tall amongst his peers as well as one of the most successful governors in the history of Zamfara state by character and temperament. Matawalle is a second to none, for; he is the best fitted to rule the state at this juncture when, insecurity  initiated by the enemies of Zamfara, became a stagnant point towards the state development.

It is largely believed that the Governor has had done everything within his power to overcome insecurity in the state. One must really be impressed, if put Zamfara at heart, and give credit to His Excellency. May Almighty Allah continue to help and guide you in all your good will for Zamfara State.
