Gov Matawalle Opens A 5-Day Retreat For State Commissioners And Special Advisers

Governor Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has spoken of the need to develop “highly skilled and well-trained organisational heads to champion the positive transformation we have embarked upon”.

Governor Matawalle was speaking at the opening of a five day Retreat on Governance and Leadership Reforms for Development organised for State Commissioners and Special Advisers at Rockview Hotel in Abuja.

He said the retreat has come at a time when his administration is laying down solid foundation for a well articulated and development oriented blueprint for Political Office holders to leap on for a faster and more result-oriented development of the state.

Governor Matawalle expressed his hope that at the end of the retreat, the success of it would impact on the running of public offices in the state: “it is my expectation that, at the end of the retreat, participants will return to their respective duty posts full of fresh ideas relating to Administrative Procedures, Financial Prudence, Policy Innovations, Information Technology, Executive Council Business and Inter-Governmental Collaboration.”

The ceremony was declared open by the Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan. who said the Federal Government has put in motion the digitalisation process of the Federal Public Service which is part of the Five-year development plan for the Public Sector, with the entire service to be digitilised by the end of 2025.

She commended Governor Matawalle for choosing to focus on public Servants and develop the skills and knowledge along with modern vision which will serve as the bedrock for prudent resource management and excellent service delivery.

Those who attended the opening Ceremony included Former State Governors Alhaji Ahmed Sani Yarima and Alhaji Mahmood Shinkafi. Others are the Emir of Anka and Chairman of Traditional Council of Zamfara State, Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Ahmed and the Emir of Gumi, Justice Lawal Hassan, the State Secretary to the Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, the Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed Gayari, the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulaiman and the Honourary Special Adviser to the Governor, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi. there were goodwill messages from selected dignitaries present at the occasion.
