Re: Quarry letter.
Sadly, ours is politics of zero sum. In it’s desperation to drag be the name of Government in anything messy, even the Civil Service is not spared by political opposition in Zamfara State.
Recently, a letter purported to emanate from ZUREPB went viral in Social Media. The only reason the letter went viral is that it involves a Government agency, and the content is poor, enough for a desperate opposition to feast in it’s effort to drag an administration into the gallow without the modesty, decorum and respect for the Civil Service to conduct even a first layer scratch of investigation.
Had they had the decorum of doing so, like I did, they will realise, like I realised, upon little finding, that the purported letter was in itself a mischief ab initio. The said letter was written by a disgruntled person to settle a personal score with the staff of the Government agency whom they had a misunderstanding.
What shocks us the most, is how fast this letter got picked, capitalised on, spread and believed by gullible minds irrespective of it’s irritating content. When will our politics of critique mature enough to feast on credible substances, with reasonable investigation before running to public, one wonders.
I challenge all those circulating the letter, to get in touch with the Government agency it is said to emanate from and verify weather it was issued by the board or it is a mere fabrication of mischief makers bent on smearing the Government it hates with passion and fail to spare even a civil Service structure for it’s sancscity.
