Zamfara Assembly Passes Bill To Establish State Education Trust Fund

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has passed into law a bill for the establishment of a State Education Trust Fund.

The passage of the bill follows the report of the House Committee on Basic Secondary and Non-Formal Education.

A statement by Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the Head of Public Relations in the state Assembly, said the trust fund, when established will cater to the payment of external examination fees for the indigenes of the state without unnecessary delays.

The statement said the committee after due deliberations and consideration of the bill sponsored by Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma made 30 far-reaching recommendations in its support.

Kaura said the bill will soon be forwarded to the state governor for his assent.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Assembly, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya has appointed Nura Dahiru Sabon Birnin Dan Ali to oversee the Committee on Rural Development in the state.

The new appointment follows the demise of the lawmaker who represented the Gusau 1 constituency in the state, late Ibrahim Muhammad Naiddah.
