It is surprising and baffling to hear some persons still claiming the existence of any faction of the All Progressives Congress APC in Zamfara especially as emanating from the inauguration of the substantive state Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani as a National Executive Council NEC member of the party and issuance of his certificate of return as the Zamfara state Chairman of APC with all the constitutional powers.
Ordinarily, if there was any faction, such complain which originated from the former state chairman and later acting chairman of the APC in the state, Alhaji Lawal Liman would have held water, but for someone who was given provisionary appointment to act pending when the party will hold its state congress, blows the minds of the right thinking.
When His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni appointed Lawal Liman to act as the party chairman, there was no specific time other than the fact that the tenure would terminate when a new executive is in place and since the Abdulaziz Yari ‘faction’ did not see nothing wrong with that nor with the Extra-ordinary Convention Committee Caretaker Chairman because they felt the arrangement will continue forever, they are yet to wake up from the dream that an acting capacity has no specific time thus cannot be challenged in court, now, they suddenly see unfairness in Mai Mala Buni.
They must recognize that having made several efforts to bring them to the discussion table in order to ensure that APC remains one united family in Zamfara and their refusal to come to terms with this comes with its consequences.
While Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha served as caretaker chairman of the party that organized the congresses which culminated into giving birth to the Tukur Umar Danfulani leadership, the senator and his team went further than their mandate to meet all stakeholders including Yari and his followers such as Lawal Liman et al, it also encouraged the Danfulani leadership to continue with the move and it has been doing so but to no avail except the complains and accusations that have refused to cease from the Yari group which we don’t see as a faction.
Also for saying that it is not well in the APC is an extension of the accusation, because even the two states of Kano and Sokoto where some skirmishes came up against the congresses and are being addressed with pisitive outcomes, Zamfara was never presented with any case.
For what is worth, what this so-called group is supposed to do is to start with the revalidation of their membership, then move on to accept the peace accord on the need to come together with everybody and make the party one big family instead of personalizing it as their own.
The action of such supposed APC members if not stopped immediately, will amount to disobeying constituted authority and sanctioned appropriately while presenting themselves as factions with their leaders in whatever guise on behalf of the All Progressives Congress APC is hencefort seen as impersonation because we have the state’s constitutionally recognized leader and the National Headquarters of our great party does not recognize the existence of any faction in Zamfara.
Even those trying to factionalize the party are only doing on the pages of mischievous or ignorant newspapers to perpetrate disharmony in the party which is whielding more support in the state. Thus, such actions for them will tarnish the image of the party in Zamfara State and county.
We also appreciate the governor’s decision of revoking letters of any house or shops housing such impersonators and urge the security to move against them for trying to cause problem in the state that is battling insecurity.
We thank our amiable governor Matawalle’s leadership in trying to make the APC the best which is the envy of these challatants who keep deceiving their followers with fabricated lies.
