Interim National Chairman Of The PRP Confirms Samba As The Duly Elected Chairman Of The Party In Kano

PRESS RELEASE
Date: 14th February, 2022

  1. This is to confirm that Malam Aliyu Samba is the duly elected chairman of the People’s Redemption Party in Kano state.
  2. Malam Samba was overwhelmingly elected at the party congress held in Kano on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
  3. To the best of our knowledge there was no one by the name of Engineer Abba Namatazu at the state congress on Saturday, 12 February 2022, which was fully attended by delegates from the 44 local government areas of Kano state, a third of whom were women; and official election monitors from federal executive agencies.
  4. Both Engineer Namatazu and his principal, Malam Falalu Bello, have since been relieved of their positions in the party leadership at state and national levels respectively. The election of Samba as party chairman in Kano state once again confirmend the non-leadership status of both Namatazu and Falalu Bello in the PRP.
  5. The PRP is a democratic humanist party that does not condone sit-tight, personalised or feudal oriented forms of leadership. Once a leader’s tenure expires, she or he is replaced by the lawful will of the people.
  6. Gerentocrats in the party who are opposed to credible youths and women playing a leading role in the PRP had better shape up and adjust to new democratic realities in the party: the people are deciding their own fate based on the rule of law, the party constitution and, above all, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999 as amended), and not the whims and caprices of either Falalu Bello or his political ward, Namatazu.
  7. The PRP is open to all Nigerians, young and old, female and male, irrespective of region, tribe, religion, or creed. What we insist on is respect for the laws of the land and the core principles of the party.
  8. I call on all Nigerian patriots, humanists, nationalists, socialists, progressive entrepreneurs, youths, and popular organisations to join the PRP today in the struggle to reconstruct politics in Nigeria as a vocation for public service and not private greed.

Signed: Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu (CAYD), Interim National Chairman, People’s Redemption Party.
