In line with its commitment to ensure adequate preparation for a successful hosting of the forthcoming Maulud Nabiyyi (SAW), the State Acting Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha Gusau paid an unscheduled visit to the International Cargo Airport the venue of the event.
In a statement signed by the Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi ANIPR, DG Press Affairs, Deputy Governor’s Office,
Zamfara State and made available to the spectacles, revealed that.
The Acting Governor was there to assess level of its fitness to accommodate over one million people from different parts of African region expected to converge in Gusau for the event.
According to the Acting Governor, like any other activity, he was there to see for himself on behalf of his principal the State Executive Governor towards ascertaining the level of preparations being made by the committee tasked with the responsibility to see to the successful staging of the event by providing all the needful that include security of the participants and the venue throughout the occasion.
Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau, while going round, informed the main committee chairman Alhaji Attahiru Bello that he is mandated to intensify constant monitoring of progress and report any observation that requires Government’s attention, as the government would not entertain any form of laxity.
The Acting Governor, therefore, directed the committee to consider provisions of adequate water supply, effective lightening of the venue, giving the much needed publicly coverage for mass public awareness, ensure provision of functional sound system, and provide adequate security personnel and health care services at the venue.
The Deputy Governor in the end has expressed satisfaction with the level of work done and urged the committee to redouble effort as time is fast approaching.
Responding, the main committee chairman Khalifa Attahiru Bello thanked the Acting Governor for the visit and promised to deliver as expected by the State Government.
In attendance were the Secretary to State Government Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe (Sardaunan Dan Isah), some members of the State Executive Council, Special Adviser and Permanent Secretary attached to the Office of the Deputy Governor, among many others.
