A statement issued by the Director General Press Affairs in the Office the Deputy Governor, Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi ANIPR said the Deputy Governor took off for Abuja via Sultan Abubakar III International Airport Sokoto Monday, 28th February 2022.
Senator Hassan Muhammad, a sitting Senator representing Zamfara Central Constituency was earlier last week nominated by Governor Bello Matawalle, screened and sworn-in as the new Deputy Governor shortly upon the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor.
The statement further said, due to the impromptu nature of his nomination, the Senator was not able to clear his table with a formal goodbye to the leadership and his colleagues the Distinguished Senators of the federal republic of Nigeria.
The Deputy Governor is expected to be at the red chamber of the Senate to perform the last official function there, while he is expected back home to continue with his official duties as the State Deputy Governor.
