Carry Out Reforms To Enhance Revenue Generation, Zamfara Dep Gov Charges Revenue Board

The State Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau has charged Zamfara Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to effect implementation of new strategies for enhanced revenue generation in the State.

He gave the order while receiving the management and staff of the IRS board who were on an official visit to his office.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi ANIPR, DG Press Affairs, Deputy Governor’s Office, Zamfara State and made available to the spectacles on Friday, 4th March, 2022.

The Deputy Governor, while thanking the delegation led by the Executive Chairman Alhaji Ali Akilu Muhammad Dama Bungudu for congratulating him over his new appointment as Number Two State Citizen, further reminded them on the need for them to intensify application of the current global approaches to the revenue generation services in the State.

Senator Hassan Gusau reiterated the present administration’s commitment under the stewardship of His Excellency the State Governor Dr Bello Muhammad (Shattiman Sokoto) to improving the living standard of the State communities to the possible best by executing viable projects that have a direct impact on the socio-economic development of the State. He was, however, quick to stress that depending only on what is accruing from the federation account would not be enough to achieve the target objective. Hence the need for the IRS to buckle up.

He also reassured them of getting whatever kind of support they may require from the government for effective service delivery, and called on taxpayers to ensure prompt payment of revenues for development purposes.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Chairman Alhaji Ali Akilu Muhammad said they were at the Deputy Governor’s Office to rejoice with him and join thousands of people in prayers for the Governor and his Deputy to succeed in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Chairman assured the State Government of the IRS Board’s readiness to domesticate any possible law that would guarantee smooth operation by its field staff in their engagement with all the target individuals and companies operating in the State.
