Breaking: Former Zamfara State Governor Yari To Join PDP Wednesday

Former Zamfara State Governor will announce his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP on Wednesday (in next two days) from APC following a preparatory meeting he held with the state PDP delegation under the party’s state Chairman, Col Bala Mande rtd, Deputy Chairman, Kabiru Jabaka and the party Secretary at his Talata Mafara residence today to conclude on an earlier meeting they held with General Aliyu Gusau at his Maitama residence where the defection talk first started.

According to a reliable source obtained from the former governor Yari’s Mafara residence who pleaded anonymity the meeting was organised under the directives of the former NSA who initiated the talk with the former governor and sent in a 3-man delegate under the leadership of Col Bala Mande rtd, Prof Kabiru Jabaka and Faruku Ahmad Shattiman Rijiya to finalise the discussion where the Wednesday date was arrived at and agreed that the former governor will make his formal announcement of joining PDP.

According to the source, the former governor told them that he has already consulted with his supporters and most of his major political associates over his plan to join the PDP with very little acceptance from his remaining APC supporters as most of them have hope in the incumbent governor Matawalle where most of Yari’s followers have since declared allegiance to Matawalle with many others on the way leading majority of them resisting to follow their political leader, telling him they cannot join him in PDP

The source further disclosed that the former governor revealed to the PDP delegation that he will join them into the PDP by Wednesday especially taking into account his current travails with the EFCC which he felt is trying to disgrace him and his hope that by declaring and formerly joining the opposition, he will have the backing of his new party, the PDP against the EFCC investigation.

It could be recalled that former governor Abdulaziz Yari found himself in a serious political suicide and predicament when ahead of the 2019 election he single-handedly annointed all the elective position including Governor and Deputy Governor which was resisted by the party’s chieftains and formed the prelude for the emergence of a pressure group known as G8 that faught Yari to a stand still and the party losing all the elective positions.

Yari, who remaining few loyalists have been feeding him with misinformation, only realized recently that his money and value were all they were after, had no other choice or option but to defect to the PDP and stay lowkeyed.
