Zamfara Govt Charged State Elders’ Committee To Ensure Unity

The call was made known by the State Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau Thursday while receiving State Elders’ Committee led by its Chairman Alhaji Lawal Abubakar (Makaman Kaura) who paid him a congratulatory visit in his office over his recent appointment as the new State Deputy Governor.

Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau revealed that the State Government’s decision to revive the elders’ committee which until now was for several years beclouded and shrouded so much that the atmosphere created a communication breakdown between it and the government, a situation that crippled any formidable channel of mediation whenever the need arises.

The Senator, on behalf of the State Government called on the elders’ committee to remain resolute in uniting the communities, as the doors of Governor Bello Matawalle are always opened to elders for advice.

He reassured further that the State Government is ready to support and cooperate with the elders’ committee for restoration of peaceful coexistence and sustainable socio-economic development.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the State Elders Committee Alhaji Lawali Abubakar (Makaman Kaura) said they are at Deputy Governor’s Office to congratulate him on his new position as the State Deputy Governor.

The Makaman Kaura said they are optimistic that Jarman Gusau will live up to expectations of his principal Governor Bello Matawalle and the entire good people of the State.

The Elders, therefore, advise the Deputy Governor to maintain his status-quo as a grassroot politician and continue with his well recognised nature of carrying everyone along and accessible to all manner of people.
