The Forum of Councillors of Area Development Councils Saturday 12th March 2022 awarded His Excellency the State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) with an award of excellent performance.
The award was presented at a congratulatory launcheon organized by the Forum in honour of the current position Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau holds as the new Deputy Governor for the State.
Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the Forum for identifying his principal and his humble self for the awards.
The Jarman Gusau said the Area Development Councils administration reintroduced by the State Government under Shatiman Sokoto leadership was borne out of the need it saw to bring people closer to the government as that would make it easier for access to the grassroots.
He, therefore, called on all the two hundred and twenty councillors to redouble efforts in the discharge of their official responsibilities especially in the area of enlightenment and sensitisation of the public on what is expected of the citizenry in their support and contributions towards maintenance of all the development projects being put in place in their respective areas, and ensure sustainability and good utilisation of the facilities.
Speaking earlier at the occasion, the Chairman of the Forum Hon Abubakar Abdullahi Anka said they organised the walimat purposefully to award the State Governor and his Deputy and also to congratulate Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad for his giant sacrifice to serve his people in that capacity.
The Forum chairman also expressed satisfaction with the level of zeal and commitment which the Deputy Governor maintain his status in the overall affairs of good governance in particular and politics in general, citing what has transpired in the last two weeks to butress his point. He, therefore, reiterated the Forum’s continuous support and cooperation to the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle.
The occasion featured a special nasihat (sermon) delivered by the Executive Chairman Zakkat and Endowment Board Mallam Abubakar Muhammad Sodangi Gusau.
In attendance at the occasion were the Emir of Gusau Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, Hon Commissioners, Special Advisers, Directors General, Local Government sole administrators, Islamic scholars, politicians among many others.
