Arrangements have been concluded on the Grand Flag-off of Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) Youth Transformation Programme slated for Thursday, 17th March, 2022 at Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna.
A statement issued by the Managing Director and Chief Executive of HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa disclosed that about 5000 Youth drawn from HYPPADEC communities of the Six HYPPADEC States would be trained in different enterprises.
The Managing Director further explained that the training was designed to enable the beneficiaries to acquire skills and become self-reliant, as well as contribute their quota to national development.
Alhaji Sadiq Yelwa revealed that Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State will serve as the Chairman of the occasion while Boss Gida Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.
The statement added that the Ministers of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, as well as Ministers of State Labour and Employment and Foreign Affairs, Festus Keyamo and Zubairu Dada will be the Guests of Honour.
The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar is to be the Royal Father of the Day at the occasion while the Managing Director and Chief Executive of HYPPADEC will be the Host, the statement revealed.
The Managing Director reiterated the Commitment of HYPPADEC to providing skills acquisition training to the Youths in HPPADEC communities, aimed at making them self-reliant and employers of Labour.
