Zamfara Dep. Gov. Flagged Off The Gbaja 5 Hundred Out-Of-School Children Enrollment Project

The Gbaja Professional Volunteer Network enrollment of five hundred out-of-school-children project was on Thursday, seventeenth March, 2022 formally flagged off in Zamfara State.

The State Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau, who presided over the ceremony, described the founder and sponsor of Gbaja Professional Volunteers Network, the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Right Honourable Abdulhakeem Gbajabiamila for identifying Zamfara State as one of the selected areas to benefit from the humanitarian gesture targetted at supporting five hundred number of out-of-school children, and medical outreach to ten thousand people.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, ANIPR, Director General Press Affairs, Deputy Governor’s Office, Zamfara State.

Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau further described the position of Chief of Staff to the Honourable Speaker of the Green Chamber Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji as a useful position immensely beneficial to the entire people of Zamfara State.

He added that the State Government is in dire need of such a complementary support from indigenous people the likes of Sanusi Rikiji occupying different positions in all sectors of the economy especially education and employment sectors.

The Deputy Governor called on the guardians of the selected children to ensure proper utilisation of the materials provided by the Gbaja Professional Volunteer Network, and also urged the public to avail themselves the golden opportunity and patronize the services of the medical outreach in order to enjoy assistance with medicaments to relieve them of minor healthcare challenges they face.

Speaking earlier at the occasion, Chief of Staff to Speaker of the National Assembly Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji said similar activities were conducted in some other States, but the program in Zamfara is exceptional one in all respect.

According to Rikiji, Mr Gbajabiamila decided to give due consideration and pariority to Zamfara because of the passion he has to the government and people of Zamfara State.

Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji explained that the programme is aimed at reducing the total number of the country’s out-of-school children that are found roaming about streets hawking, a situation which could at a later period turn out to be producing unwanted elements in the society.

The Gbaja Professional Volunteers Network medical outreach offers free healthcare services to ten thousand people across the State.

The Chief of Staff Sanusi Rikiji, while thanking the State Governor Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle for assigning a high powered delegation of top government officials led by the State Deputy Governor to the occasion, also urged the beneficiaries to make best use of the free medical services offered them.

The flag-off of the Gbaja Professional Volunteer Network program and a prize giving ceremony to winners of Allura Cikin Ruwa radio public participation quiz program being sponsored by Rikiji Foundation took place at the premises of Emir’s Palace in the central city of Gusau, the State Capital, with His Royal Highness Sarkin Katsinan Gusau Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Bello as the father of the Day.
