Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state hailed Hauwa Umar Faragai, an indigene of Kano, for her Solo Art Exhibition, tagged A New Dawn, held at Ado Bayero Mall, Shoprite, Kano, in collaboration with Nigerian Gallery of Arts and Society of Nigerian Artists.
Faragai bagged Higher National Diploma (HND), in Painting from School of Technology, Kano State Polytechnic. She also won a Silver Medal in an international competition organised by Shankar International School Competition India.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, Abba Anwar, a copy of which was made available to the Spectacles on Tuesday, 22nd March, 2022.
The statement read, “In our resolve to improve the participation of women and youth in governance, politics and creative arts, among others, we really appreciate the originality in Hauwa Umar Faragai’s creative work,” he commended.
According to the governor, the coming up of Hauwa Faragai gives more courage to young and talented ones to work hard and become individuals of substance.
“Her excellent posture shows that our higher institutions are doing well in training our youth to be exceptional. I understand that she read Painting, at School of Technology, Kano State Polytechnic,” he appreciated.
Adding that, his administration would do everything possible to support talents like Hauwa Faragai, emphasising that, “Hers is something to be proud of. With such exhibition of talent inbuilt in her, the government and people of Kano state are proud of her.”
