Why The Candidature Of Abubakar Nakwada Is A Worthy Endeavour

In a discussion with friends on the happenings in Zamfara State particularly as it relates to socio-economic growth and development, we came to a conclusion that the State has since it’s creation been traveling in circle while other states have been traveling on a straight line direction. This is what development economists termed as growth at miserable steps or what is akin to taking one step forward and two or more steps backward.

The reasons for these kind of growth are not far-fetched. The State continues to conceive inflated and uncompleted projects, which continue to rig off our meager funds year in year out with no appreciable progress and with negative consequences on the lives of the Zamfara people.

The choice before us is to accept that we can not continue cheat ourselves to success anymore and the only way to progress is to rally round someone that can lead us to progress. The people of Zamfara State don’t have to live a miserable life when we have all the potentials to greatness. We just need someone to harness it. We must implement a plan designed to multiply opportunities for the common good of all and we must be bold enough to collectively place our faith and trust in people that have the capacity and capabilities to move Zamfara State out of the socio-economic and political quagmire it has been plunged into.

True leadership demands sacrifice and personal example. That is why the candidature of Mallam Abubakar Nakwada is a worthy endeavour. He has a strategic plan and the know-how with good track records of service delivery and the antecedence are glaring for all to assess.
