Governor Matawalle Hosts Zamfara Workers To Ramadan Breakfast, Assures To Boost Their Morale And Productivity
Governor Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun, Barden Hausa, Shettiman Sokoto on Monday hosted workers under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC to Ramadan Breakfast (Iftar) at his residence to mark the end of the Tenth Day of Ramadan fast, urging them to strive hard to salvage the civil service from collapse.
In a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor of Zamfara State, Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji and made available to the Spectacles on Tuesday 12th April, 2022.
The Governor said as the engine room of the Government, workers need to support the Government of the day by redoubling their efforts in dedication and efficiency to assist in further upgrading the status of the state.
Governor Bello Matawalle who assured of his administation’s readiness to assist the state workforce by giving them their entitlements as and when due, said a new approach will be put in place between the workers and the government in order to meet their yearnings and aspiration at all costs.
He said the welfare of workers will continue to be his utmost priority, while constant payment of gratituity and pensions to retired civil servants would continue to receive an unabated boost.
The Shettiman Sokoto also observed that the state civil service is bloated with absentee staff who are drawing in excess of government resources that could have been channelled to developmental projects.
The Governor therefore called on workers to adhere to work ethics for improved service delivery and salvage the civil service.
Earlier, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Comrade Sani Halliru who spoke on behalf of the entire working class in the state assured the Governor of the workers unflinching support and cooperation for the overall development of the state in all ramifications.
The NLC chairman called on the state Government to always give priority to the plight of the civil servants so as to collectively move the state to the next level of development.
The Ramadan Iftaar is hosted by the magnanimity of the governor to all strata of people in the state during which sumptuous meals and drinks are shared amidst discussions on how to move the state forward.
