A former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has advised the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to stop the resumption of the Kaduna-Abuja train service.
Naija News had reported that the federal government had announced plans to resume rail services on the corridor following the ongoing repair works on the damaged train tracks.
In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Sunday, Senator Sani asked Amaechi to suspend the resumption of operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route until the victims kidnapped on March 28 are freed or released.
The Kaduna governorship aspirant added that safety measures also need to be put in place before services resume so as to prevent future attacks.
He wrote: “My unsolicited advice to the Transportation Minister; Don’t start running the Kaduna-Abuja Train until the hostages in the hands of the terrorists are freed or released.”
