Zamfara Govt Donates N10 Million, 600 Bags Of Rice To Victims Of Damri Attack

This was disclosed today by the State Acting Governor Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad (Jarman Gusau) while addressing people of Damri at the District Head’s palace.

According to the Deputy Governor, the State Government received the information of the attack with utmost dismay, despite the total commitment of the government in curtailing the increased banditry activities throughout the State.

Jarman Gusau further called on people of the area to ensure taking necessary self protection measures, and urged them not to attempt to initiate a threat by any form of challenge against any body. Rather, but they should always be very vigilant of not to allow miscreants to disrupt the relative peace being enjoyed by the people for years.

Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau, on behalf of the State Executive Governor Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle, the Government and good people of Zamfara State, announce the donations of ten million Naira and six hundred bags of rice to the families of the affected victims. He also reassured of the State Government efforts in the area of redeployment of more security personnel to beef up vigilance in the affected area and it’s environs.

Speaking earlier, the Sole Administrator of Bakura Local Government Council Dr Aminu Suleman Yarkofoji commended the State Governor for his concern to the plight of the citizenry especially in taking urgent and quick rescue measures coupled with the provisions of relief materials and cash donations as interim intervention.

Dr Aminu Suleman called on the State Government to, as matter of urgency, redeploy more security personnel there. This is in view of the fact that this year’s raining season is fast approaching. Hence the need to respond to the call so as to allow the people of the area embark on their usual annual farming activities.

The Acting Governor was accompanied at the visit by Chief of Staff Government House Alhaji Ibrahim Suleman, the Head of Service Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs Hon Abubakar Sarkn Fawa Dambo, and Sole Administrators of Maru, Bungudu, Maradun and Talatar Mafara Local Government Council Areas, among many others.
