In continuation of his visit of Senegal, His Highness, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero Sarkin Kano, visited the holy city of Kaolack and to paid homage to the late spiritual leader of the Tijaniyya sect, Sheikh Ibrahim Niass and his family.
His Highness and entourage were received warmly received by a mammoth and jubilating crowd right from the town entrance and escorted him to the Graveyard of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass within the pricints of the Grand mosque named after the revered late Leader. His Highness subsequently visited the residence of Khalifa Sheikh Mahi Niass who is the current leader of the Tijaniyya sect.
In his speech, Sheikh Masi thanked His Highness for the visit and observed that the family of the late Sheikh felt honoured with such visits due to their historical significance. He added that the visit goes to strengthen the bond of friendship that was created by their forebearers.
In his response, His Highness expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage. He said coming to Kaolack is always like coming home and he promised to work towards the strengthening of the special relationship between their two families.
