In his speech of welcome at the occasion held today, the Emir expressed his appreciation to all the important dignitaries present for honouring the invitation and described the first bearer of the traditional title of Bunun Gumel as a philanthropist who contributed in no small measures to the development of Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State and Nigeria in general in many ways.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, ANIPR, Director-General Press Affairs, Deputy Governor’s Office, Zamfara State, a copy of which was made available to the Spectacles on 04/06/2022.

His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani II said the Emirate Council had considered the track records of Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad Waziri and found him worthy of being conferred with the traditional title of Bunun Gumel. He added that the gesture was most deserving of his calibre, and the particular title was introduced for the very first time among the most important traditional titles in Gumel Emirate.

The Emir further called on the newly turbaned Bunu to continue with his good work of supporting less privileged people and never relent in his penchant for creating employment opportunities for the youth for self-reliance. He also called on other people to emulate him in that direction.
