Breaking: Longest Serving Zamfara Monarch Dies After 61 Years On Throne

The Zamfara State Government has announced the death of Alhaji Ahmad Umar, the Emir of Kotorkoshi in the state’s Bungudu Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the secretary to the Zamfara state government, Kabiru Balarabe, and made available to the Spectacles on Thursday, said the Emir died this afternoon after a long illness.

Late Ahmad Umar is unquestionably Zamfara State’s longest-serving monarch, having ascended to the throne on March 17, 1961.
