Matawalle Presents Letter Of Appointment To Newly Appointed Emir Of Bazai

Presenting the letter to the Emir of Bazai Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu Moriki, the State Executive Governor said the State Department, among other measures, took into consideration the criteria which Jangeru Emirate Council king makers have duly followed to have conclusively found the personality of Muhammad Aliyu Moriki not only as the first among equals but the most suitable nominee for the throne.

Representing the governor at the occasion, the State Deputy Governor Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau said the leadership of Matawalle recognizes with high esteem the position of traditional institutions as custodians of societal norms and values identifies with them for the roles they play in promoting good governance in a democratic setting.

He said this informed the decision of the State Government in effecting the recent increase in the number of emirates from seventeen to nineteen Emirate Councils and provision of official vehicles to all the emirs and district heads befitting their royal status as well as facilitate their easy movement and, where necessary, reporting to the State Government burning issues that affect the general wellbeing of the state citizens.

By and large, he added, the enumerated facts serve as a review of some of the successes recorded by the State Government through the traditional institutions.

In a statement signed by the Director-General Press Affairs, Office of the Deputy Governor, Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, ANIPR, said Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau, while congratulating the new Emir, called on him to use his potential experience in bringing together all manner of people in his domain with a view to addressing all elements of security challenges that persist in his Emirate and other parts of the State.

Responding on behalf of his family and the entire people of Jangeru Emirate, Shinkafi Local Government and all his well-wishers, the Emir of Bazai Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu Moriki thanked the State Governor Dr Bello Matawalle for choosing him worthy of the position.

The Emir thanked particularly the Deputy Governor Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad (Jarman Gusau), Secretary to Zamfara State Government, and all top government personalities for gracing the occasion.

He also reassured of working to hand-in-hand with the government, and support all the good policies and programmes of Mayawalle’s people-oriented administration.
