Kebbi State Govt Approves N3.1bn For Gratuity & Death Benefits

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has approved the sum of Two Billion, Nine Hundred and Eighty One Million, Eight Hundred and Fifty Six Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty Five Naira, Forty Eight Kobo (N2,981,856,465.48) for the payment of gratuity and death benefit for the year 2021.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki, said the payment is to cover for One Thousand, One Hundred and Seventy Two (1,172) beneficiaries of State, Local Government and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

This is contained in a statement signed by the Ag. Head of Service, Alh. Safiyanu Garba Bena and made available to the press this Tuesday.

According to the statement, the latest approval from the Governor was part of the determined effort of the Kebbi State Government to ensure that all retired workers receive their benefits as at when due.

It will be recall that, in line with the determined commitment of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to the welfare Kebbi State workforce in retirement, that an approval of cumulative amount of N30,280,792,650.04 comprising of N20,105,129,647.54 for the period of 2015 to 2018 and another amount of N10,175,663,002.50 representing the payments of balances of 2017, 2018 and full payments of 2019 to 2021 verified retirees totaling 3,724 was granted.

This is to ensure improved general welfare of the retired civil servants of the State in line with the administration’s welfare policy.
