Zamfara Dep Gov Performed Eid-El Kabir At Gusau The State Capital

The performance of a two-raka’at Eid (festival) prayer by Muslim community globally is a usual practice being observed on two separate occasions.

The first is on the the first day of Shawwal (the tenth month) that marks the end of Ramadan (the ninth month) and the conclusion of the month-long fasting period in the preceding month Ramadan), while the second is on the tenth day of Dhul-Hijja (the twelfth month) that marks the conclusion of Arafat, the peak of Hajj proper, and the beginning of Ayyamut Tashriq in which the Hujjaj perform the Satan-stoning and Hadaya (animal sacrifice by those who perform Hajj) rituals.

The rest of the Muslim community follow suit with the Eid-el-Adha as a mark of unity, and in obedience to the Quran injunction as exemplified in the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Performance of a two-raka’at Eid-el-Kabir congregational prayer be observed by the entire Muslims in their countries of abode marked the end of this year’s annual Arafat and rejoice with the Hujjas (pilgrims) Muslims who are currently at the Holy Land.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director General Press Affairs, Office of the Deputy Governor, Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, ANIPR, said the Eid prayer in Gusau the State Capital was led by the chief Imam of Gusau Central Mosque Liman Muhammad Dan Alhaji Sambo who, in his special sermon, highlighted the basic principles of slaughtering sacrificial animal (Layyah) and its importance.

Liman Dan Alhaji Sambo also called on the general public to embark upon special prayers for continuous peace and security in the State and country in general.

From the Eid prayer graund, the State Deputy Governor and his entourage moved to the Emir’s Palace where, on behalf of the State Executive Governor Dr Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun), he paid a special Sallah homage to His Royal Highness the Emir of Gusau Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Bello.

The Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad (Jarman Gudau) thanked the Emir for his fatherly advice and prayer to the present administration and his effort in ensuring a free- drug vices society in his Emirate.

The Gabbdon Mafara urged the Emir to continue with the good councelling he offers, and called on the public to celebrate their Sallah activities with utmost care with special attention to monitoring the younger ones and wishes all Muslims a successful Sallah festivities.

Many important personalities of Gusau Emirate attended the prayer.
