Over one thousand people benefited from the final round of Zamfara medical outreach conducted in Maru local government area of Zamfara state.
This was disclosed by the State Deputy Governor Distinguished Senator Hassan Muhammad Jarman Gusau while addressing a crowd of prominent personalities, target patients and several guests at Emir’s Palace Maru.
In a statement signed by the Director General Press Affairs, Office of the Deputy Governor, Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi said the Deputy Governor, while giving an account of what has transpired during the four-day exercise in Zamfara Central Senatorial District, said the programme has initially targeted only five thousand beneficiaries in all the four local government areas; but due to the high demand by people, the projection changed to over six thousand beneficiaries put in record.
Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau further explained that the present administration of His Excellency Governor Bello Matawalle is attaching much emphasis on the provision of quality health care service delivery in the State.
According to him, the report of Central Zone medical outreach exercise would be presented to the Governor for his scrutiny and possible consideration to approve for implementation of same programme in the other local government areas towards addressing different health care challenges among sundry people.
Senator Hassan Muhammad Jarman Gusau on behalf of the State Government and good people of Zamfara State expressed appreciation to all the relevant stakeholders especially Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria, the Chairperson of the occasion Medical Consultant Dr Fatima Abdullahi, Sole Administrators and respective Emirs from the benefitting local government areas, all Government officials, the target beneficiaries and all the working committees under the leadership of Honourable Bashir Madaro Walin Kurya for their tireless support and contributions to ensure the success of the programme.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness the Emir of Maru Banaga Alhaji Abubakar Gado Maigari has donated a plot of land for use by the State Government in the construction of its proposed multi- purpose town hall in Maru town.
The move for the project was revealed by the Deputy Governor at the occasion marking the round up of the four days medical outreach exercise across the four local government areas in Zamfara Central Senatorial District that ended Wednesday.
Jarman Gusau said the idea behind the provision ofa befitting town hall was to enable for staging of weekly preaching session similar to that of Gusau the State Capital. He added that the hall serves also as convenient venue for hosting social gatherings, among other things.
