Wild jubilation greeted the announcement of the All Progressives Congress as the highest vote-scoring party at the Shettima Kukawa Polling Unit 023, Lawan Bukar Ward, Maiduguri metropolis, where the APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima, voted hours earlier.
The APC Scored 126 votes to floor the PDP which garnered 22 votes.
The presiding officer of the PU, Suleiman Abdulhamid, also announced that the New Nigeria Peoples Party and the Labour Party scored 0 votes.
The voting exercise which lasted for about six hours began two hours behind the 08:30 am schedule as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission arrived late.
The report said Shettima was at the polling unit earlier but left soon after discovering that INEC officials were yet to arrive.
