Atiku Wins Bauchi State Presidential Election – Punch

The presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has defeated his closest rival, Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, with 109,913 votes in Bauchi State.

The state Collation Officer of the presidential election, Prof. Abdulkarim Mohammed, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, announced the results on Monday.

He announced the results at 8.15 pm on Monday at the Prof. Mahmood Yakubu Conference Hall at the Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters, Bauchi, the Collation Center for the presidential election in the state.

Giving a summary of the results, the collation officer said that Atiku got 426,607 votes while his closest contender, Tinubu, had 316,694 votes.

He said that the New Nigerian People’s Party candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso got 72,103 while Peter Obi of the Labour Party scored 27,373 votes.

Mohammed said that the registered voters in the state are: 2,749,268 while those that were accredited to vote are: 899,769.

The valid votes cast, according to him, are: 853,516, rejected votes: 29,030 while the total votes cast are: 882,546.
