In its effort to promote agricultural knowledge among the pupils of the state, the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has conducted a zonal quiz competition for primary and junior secondary schools on livestock production 2020/2021.
The quiz witnessed the participation of primary and secondary schools from different zones of Zamfara state which held at Teachers Training and Development Center Bypass, Gusau, the state capital and was organized through Agric Education Training Program (AETP) of the Board.
In his welcome remarks, the Director school services of the Board, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, said introducing the school to farm initiative to basic Education schools would no doubt achieved the goals and the aspirations of the SDG #2 by encouraging and inculcating practical Agricultural knowledge to basic Education schools and prepare for life-long learning which are part of the objectives of the UBE program.
He further called on stakeholders in education to contribute their quoter towards achieving agricultural practice in schools for the success of the program and better society in future.
This was contained in a statement issued by the board public relation officer (ii), Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare said, At the end of the quiz competition for primary section level, the schools were grouped according to the zone, Gusau zone took the first position with 12 marks, followed by Anka zone with second position, scored 10 marks while Kaura Namoda zone clinched third position with 7 marks.
At the Junior secondary school section, Anka zone took the first position, followed by Gusau zone with second position while Talata mafara zone took the third position.
Those in attendance were Chairman Zamfara state Universal basic Education Board, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Dan Madamin Maradun, representatives of Commissioner, ministry of Education, and other important dignitaries in the state.
