JUST IN: Yoruba Nation Agitators Hijack FG-owned Radio Station, 5 Arrested

Members of the Oodua Nation (Yoruba Agitators) reportedly hijacked Amuludun 99.1 FM station around 6 am on Sunday in Ibadan.

The station is one of those owned by the Federal government and managed by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

Five of them were arrested in the early hours of Sunday.

According to reports, the agitators invaded the station with various forms of charms and took over the station and broadcasted live.

They held posters with inscriptions, “Oodua Nation has come to stay”, “Yoruba no more under Federal Republic of Nigeria”, “United Nation will soon declare Oodua Nation”, among others.

The General Manager of the station, Mr. Stephen Agbaje, confirmed the development to journalists.

“Some group of agitators came around in the night, and took over the station, but the situation has been brought under control by the security agents. They were able to recover the station, and some arrests have been made.”
