COAS Commissions RSM’s House In Gusau, Says Troops Will Clear Bandits

The Chief of Army Staff Major General TA Lagbaja today 13 July 2023, commissioned the newly constructed and furnished accommodation for the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau Zamfara State.

In his remarks during the commissioning ceremony, Maj Gen Lagbaja said the newly built accommodation for the RSM was part of his drive at improving the welfare of personnel and members of their family, which other RSM’s at Army Headquarters and Divisional formations/units across the country has benefitted from.

General Lagbaja stated that the role of the RSM in Nigerian Army formations and units is crucial in upholding the core values of Nigerian Army. He therefore charged the troops to be dedicated, disciplined and loyal to the Army and constituted authorities.

The Chief of Army Staff assured the troops to provide more befitting accommodation in the Nigerian Army Cantonment Gusau. He further urged the RSM 1 Brigade to ensure adequate maintenance of the accommodation.

The Chief of Army Staff was represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General GM Mutkut.

Earlier in his remarks the Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau Brigadier General S Ahmed commended the Chief of Army Staff for the laudable project which will impact positively in enhancing regimentation and discipline in the Army.

He further stated that the Chief of Army Staff has embarked on numerous projects in 1 Brigade which will soon be completed and commissioned. He stressed that the projects when completed will enhance troops morale and operational efficiency.

Highlights of the event was the cutting of the commissioning tape and handing over of the keys of the accommodation to the RSM.
