Former Zamfara UBE Chairman Released From Prison

A former chairman of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) Honorable Murtala Adamu (Matawallen Jangebe) has been released from Gusau correctional centre, he spent five years after he was remanded at the facility.

Matawallen Jangebe was, on 28 November 2018 remanded after the appellate court found him guilty on the seven out of the 10 counts charges.

The Spectacles recalled that a five-man panel of the Court sitting in Sokoto and presided over by Justice Hannatu Sankey has sentenced him to a cumulative jail term of 41 years.

He was consequently sentenced to five years imprisonment on each of four of the counts, and seven years each on the three other counts.

He was released on Friday with the reception of a large number of people, from relatives, friends, primary school teachers, students and many prominent politicians of which they accompanied him to his family.

Matawalle came out of the prison in good health and found his family and other affairs in good condition as he left them, nothing had changed, as if his stay in the prison was a break.

At the time that I am filling this report, many well wishers from different part of the state troop out and invade his house to congratulate him and wishing him good fortune as well as praying for his protection against enemies.
