Zamfara State House of assembly has confirmed the receipt of a list of nominees who are to serve as commissioners and executive council members in the state government if screened by the house.
This was revealed in a press release signed and made available to ‘Media Smarts Nigeria’ in Gusau by the public relations officer of the state house of Assembly, Nasir Usman Biyabiki.
He noted that the house received the list of the nominees from Secretary to the State Government, Malan Abubakar Muhammad Nakwada who called on the LawMakers to consider the list of the nominees for screening for their onward appointment as commissioners that will serve in the present administration.
Biyabiki stated that Malam Nakwada thanked Members of the house for their support to the Executive Arm and called on them to maintain the tempo.
“His Excellency Governor Dauda Lawal appreciates your support and pledged to work with you and give you all the necessary support for you to legitimately exercise your fundamental functions.” Nakwada added.
According to him, the Speaker of the Zamfara state house of assembly Rt. Hon. Bilyaminu Ismaíl Moriki while receiving the list, assured the House readiness to support the Executive Arm of Government in order to realize the outlined objectives of promoting the security and socio-economic status of the state.
Bilyaminu Ismaíl said the current harmonious working relationship between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government will serve as a catalyst in bringing the most needed development in the State.
He said the House will soon commence the screening of the nominees in accordance with the guiding principles. Saying, the House has earlier approved a request from the State Governor for the appointment of Twenty Special Advisers, hence the need to speed up the screening of the commissioners nominees.
The statement added that the list of the Commissioners will be unveiled in the next legislative session.
