Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has appealed to the World Bank for a partnership aimed at harnessing the abundant solid mineral resources within the state, with the ultimate goal of benefiting its population.
During a dinner event at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on Friday, Governor Dauda addressed the President of the World Bank, Ajay Banga, as he embarked on his global tour to engage key stakeholders in bolstering developmental initiatives within Nigeria.
A press release from the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, highlighted the dinner’s attendance by Governors representing Anambra, Borno, Edo, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, and Oyo states.
In his remarks, Governor Dauda commended the World Bank for its client-focused methodology and result-driven interventions.
He also emphasized the importance of the Bank’s role in facilitating private sector investments to drive development.
Furthermore, Governor Dauda expressed Zamfara State Government’s eagerness to collaborate on the exploration and exploitation of its mineral resources, aiming to bring about positive impacts for its populace.
