Zamfara Plagued By Self-Centered Bohemians That Destroying Future Of Innocent Workers

ZAMFARA STATE IS PLAGUED BY A CLASS OF NARROW-MINDED SELF-CENTERED BOHEMIANS THAT AIM AT DESTROYING THE FUTURE OF INNOCENT WORKERS

Participation in any form of government process is required for legitimate consideration by the constituted authorities concerned in which formal inaugural procedures are kickstarted and closely followed involving all critical stakeholders for wide and effective contributions of all to meet the needed actualization of ground rules provided by the government for equity and equality.

Civil Service is a great entity that consists of highly professional and experienced men and women of proven integrity and character in all ramifications and cannot be simply undermined by the opinion of any single person who does not fulfill the requisite obligations to just intrude in the service without due consultation and prior consent of the relevant State Service bodies responsible for the coordination of Service and Civil Servants for necessary inputs and further technical administrative guidance.

I am generally speaking directly in respect of the kangaroo approach being demonstrated by one self-acclaimed Zamfara State S A Finance who has not yet observed the requirements of operation as a public office holder in the political nomenclature of Zamfara State.

Without properly studying the new environment, the person in question either erroneously or deliberately and hence makes the mistake of running faster than his legs in his egoistic yearning to accelerate by himself and for himself to the undeserving upgraded position he has apportioned himself in. That is to say, he has the unbecoming audacity of nominating and co-opting senior civil servants of Permanent Secretaries, Directors, and Assistant Directors’ statuses to conduct workers’ verification exercises without any supporting document indicating official authorization from or due consent of the respective constituted authority confirming it a normal task backed or supported by it. Unfortunately, the scandalous exercise has eventually led to the exclusion of unaccounted thousands of innocent workers from the monthly payroll of the State Government.

On this note, let me humbly use this medium to intimate the Zamfara State Executive Governor His Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal that there is an urgent need for his Government to wield its rightful position to constitute a legitimate committee of responsible and experienced people to critically review the work or shoddy work of the earlier self-appointed committee. The lead of the bunch of that illegal team needs his head to be examined and proper disciplinary action to be taken against him.

So unimaginable, he has also deceived himself with an assumption of imaginary superiority, much that he outrightly again faulted in not submitting the report of his team’s dirty findings against the workers. The self-appointed and misguided committee has instead gone ahead to implement ill-advised recommendations, all to the disadvantage of workers and pensioners in the State.

The quagmire caused by the misdeeds of that unauthorized exercise is obvious. While passing by, take a casual look at the State Ministry of Finance and almost every commercial bank especially Gusau the State Capital.

A mere observance of the weeks-long daily queue being seen of workers, especially Teachers from the Female Education Board, Teachers Service Board, Primary Healthcare Management Board, ZSUBEB, and a serious reasonable number from other MDAs has caused both commercial banks and the State Ministry of Finance undue inconveniences.

Suffice it to say this is enough of a menace that calls for redress. The affected civil servants plunged into the unwarranted problem now storming the banks and Finance Ministry’s premises in a frantic effort to get the verification of their documents and other logistics properly done to clear the fatal mess the former committee has made.

All of this hardship was instituted by our fellow civil servants unlawfully engaged by someone; and instead of calling him to order and putting him in the right direction on how best the exercise should be done without breaching the civil service rules so that the poor worker would not be hurt.

The overzealous opportunist nominated and co-opted members as workers in a shamble approach and mapped a witch-hunting strategy mischievously targeting fellow workers in the State, yes targeting to destroy the relative peace of workers and their families. All the officers in question are people with bad records in service claiming to be principled people while in reality, they have a negative motive against the workers using any available verification committee, the recent one inclusive on which they seize the opportunity for them to actualize their evil agenda. We believe the government and Governor himself are not happy with the current suffering of workers especially those who skipped completely from the nominal role of their respective organizations.

This is a call for adjustment and a show of concern by the government to prune off any undesirable element from its workforce that aims at creating havoc that breeds fatal disenchantment between it and the public in general and, in this respect, the civil servants in particular.

Let the spirit of justice and fairness prevail as a promoter of labor for the continuous creation of an enabling non-partisan environment for workers to breathe Allah’s given free air that needs no verified documents to enjoy the right and privilege to it so long as one’s heartbeat last.
