BREAKING: DHQ Confirms Killing Of 36 Military Officers In Niger State

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has tragically confirmed the loss of 36 officers in Niger State.

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, provided a detailed account of the casualties resulting from an ambush on troops in Niger State, as well as the unfortunate crash of an evacuation helicopter on August 14, 2023.

The somber announcement was made during the biweekly briefing conducted by the Defence Media Operations.

In response to inquiries regarding the helicopter crash, Major General Buba reiterated that an ongoing investigation is being conducted to ascertain the cause of the incident. He urged citizens to remain vigilant against terrorist propaganda and to uphold their patriotism.

The attack by insurgents occurred in the Zungeru area of the state, resulting in the tragic sacrifice of valiant soldiers from the Nigerian Army.

Additionally, a Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter, involved in a mission to evacuate casualties, unfortunately crashed on Monday in the Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
