Educational Sector In Zamfara State In Disarray, Says Commissioner

The Zamfara state government has pledged to undertake a comprehensive overhaul of its educational sector, acknowledging that the current state of affairs is disheartening and unacceptable.

Mallam Wadatau Madawaki, the newly appointed Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, is determined to restore the lost prestige of education in the state, vowing to give it the highest priority during his tenure.

During an interview at his Gusau residence, Commissioner Madawaki candidly expressed his concerns about the deplorable state of education in Zamfara.

Madawaki emphasized the urgent need for a thorough restructuring of the educational framework, aiming to instill a sense of pride and excellence in Zamfara’s educational system.

“He has articulated his commitment to a comprehensive approach, focusing on establishing a solid educational foundation at all levels, spanning from primary to tertiary education. Our administration is unwaveringly dedicated to providing top-tier education within the state,” he affirmed.

In addition, the Commissioner outlined his strategic vision to position Zamfara’s education on par with other states in terms of productivity and quality.

Highlighting the growing significance of digitalization and technology, he stressed the imperative of equipping the youth with practical skills that empower them to be self-sufficient and less reliant on conventional employment opportunities.

“We are steadfast in our determination to equip graduates with the skills essential for self-employment, thereby diminishing their dependence on traditional white-collar jobs,” Commissioner Madawaki asserted.

He further pointed out that a substantial portion of criminal activities and pervasive insecurity can be attributed to the lack of education among untrained youth.

Commissioner Madawaki firmly believes that a well-educated society can effectively counteract these challenges, leading to a more advanced and crime-free environment.
