The Executive Chairman, Bichi Local Government Council, Dr Yusuf Mohammed Sabo has said that an approval has been granted by Kano State Government for the Council to embark on one week exercise for Chlorination of about 3000 Wells across the 11 wards.
The Council Chairman, a Medical Doctor and Professor of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology said the exercise was aimed at preventing the spread of water-borne diseases in the communities during this raining season as such all open wells that serve as as a source of drinking water in the entire Bichi Local Government Area will be chlorinated in an effort to fight water-borne diseases especially cholera.
Dr Sabo said the exercise would be conducted across all 11 the political wards with the involvement of traditional rulers, religious and political leaders, youth, and women groups.
The Executive Chairman has also called on all stakeholders in Bichi Local Government to support the exercise that aimed generally at improving the health and well-being of our people.
