Zamfara Represents Nigeria At Saudi Arabia’s King Abdul’aziz Qur’an competition

Hafiz Abdallah Saadiq Sadeeq, hailing from Gusau Local Government in Zamfara State, has been selected to represent Nigeria at the upcoming King Abdul’aziz International Qur’anic Memorisation Competition. The event is scheduled to commence on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.

In this competition, Hafiz Abdallah Saadiq Sadeeq will be participating in the first category of the Musabaqa, focusing on the Complete Qur’an and Tafseer.

Similarly, Hafiz Muttaqa Ishaqa, also from Gusau Local Government, will be part of the contingent representing Nigeria in the International Musabaqa’s Second category, which involves the complete recitation of the Qur’an without Tafseer.

Both of these remarkable individuals were chosen to represent Nigeria in Saudi Arabia following their victories in the National Qur’anic Memorisation Competition.

This national competition was organized by the Center for Islamic Studies at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto and took place in December 2022 in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.

It’s worth noting that during the previous Musabaqa, Hafiz Abdullahi from Sokoto emerged as the overall winner, achieving an impressive score of 97.9 points. Hafiz Abdallah Saadiq Sadeeq from Zamfara secured the second position with 96.9 points.

However, due to age limit restrictions outlined in the participation rules of the Musabaqa, Hafiz Abdullahi from Sokoto was disqualified, leading to Hafiz Abdallah Saadiq Sadeeq’s fortunate selection by the King Abdul’aziz International Musabaqa committee to represent Nigeria in the first category.

Both of the selected contenders, Hafiz Abdallah Saadiq Sadeeq and Hafiz Muttaqa Ishaqa, have already arrived in Saudi Arabia. All the necessary arrangements are in place as the Musabaqa is set to commence on Saturday, August 26th, 2023.
