Insecurity: Zamfara Governor Approves Recruitment Of Civilian JTF

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, in a proactive move to enhance security within the state, has granted approval for the establishment of a Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), as reported by The Spectacles.

This pivotal decision to initiate the recruitment of a Civilian JTF was a central topic of discussion during the recent State Executive Council meeting, which was presided over by Governor Dauda Lawal himself. The meeting took place at the Council Chambers of the Government House in Gusau.

According to a statement released by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the State Executive Council meeting also addressed the pressing need for improvements in the state’s education sector. In line with this commitment, the council approved plans for classroom construction, renovation, and furnishing to enhance educational opportunities.

Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to addressing the ongoing security challenges in Zamfara is evident in his approval of the recruitment of a Civilian JTF in every local government area of the state. The goal is to complement the efforts of the military and the police in maintaining security.

A total of 300 civilian JTF members will be recruited in each local government area, and they will undergo intensive physical training to equip them with the necessary skills for providing actionable intelligence to aid security agencies in their fight against insecurity.

Furthermore, the State Executive Council greenlit the construction of additional classrooms across all 14 local government areas, which will expand educational opportunities for students.

Governor Lawal firmly believes in the right to quality education for every Zamfara child and is committed to making it a reality. To achieve this, his administration has undertaken projects to construct, renovate, and furnish classrooms as follows: 49 in Gusau, 11 in Anka, 15 in Bakura, 8 in Bukkuyum, 14 in Birnin Magaji, 8 in Bungudu, 8 in Gummi, 19 in Kaura, 8 in Maru, 11 in Maradun, 42 in Shinkafi, 8 in Talata Mafara, 27 in Tsafe, and 11 in Zurmi local government areas.
