Ugandan Businessman Marries Seven Wives Simultaneously Same Day (Photos)

Ssaalongo Nsikonenne Habib Ssezzigu, a Ugandan businessman, achieved a historic feat by marrying seven wives on a single day in Uganda.

This remarkable wedding ceremony took place in Bugereka village, Mukono district, on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Of the seven brides, two were biological sisters.

The festivities commenced at 8 am with the brides being pampered at local salons before they were chauffeured in Super Custom vans, each bearing specialized plates with the names of the brides.

After exchanging their vows, Nsikonnene and his seven wives embarked on a grand procession led by boda boda cyclists, passing through the towns of Kalagi, Kasana, and Nakifuma, finally arriving at their new home at 6 pm.

The wedding commenced with a concert as the newlyweds paraded through town, drawing applause from onlookers who had lined the streets to witness this extraordinary event.

Some spectators couldn’t believe their eyes, while others marveled at witnessing such an unprecedented spectacle.

The seven wives are named Mariam, Madinah, Aisha, Zainabu, Fatuma, Rashida, and Musanyusa, with Musanyusa being Habib’s first wife, having shared seven years of marriage with him.

Habib also surprised his wives by gifting each of them a brand new car.

At the reception, each bride found her designated seat, personalized with her name.

During his reception speech, Nsikonnene commended his wives for their unwavering loyalty, proudly stating, “My wives harbor no jealousy amongst themselves. I introduced them separately and decided to wed them all at once to create one big happy family.”

He hinted at the possibility of adding more wives in the future, saying, “I am still a young man, and in the near future, God willing, I cannot say this is the end of it.”

The groom’s father, Hajj Abdul Ssemakula, shared that polygamy has been a long-standing tradition in their family, with his grandfather having six wives who lived separately in a single house.

“My own late father had five wives, and I myself have four wives who live together in one house,” he mentioned.

It is believed that Habib set a new record for marrying multiple wives simultaneously in Uganda.
