Nigerians Are Not Lazy, Have No Reason To Be Poor – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his dedication to improving Nigeria, praising his fellow citizens as hardworking individuals who should not be living in poverty.

Tinubu made these remarks while receiving a prominent 62-member delegation, composed of leaders from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.

Leaders from Rivers state expressed their gratitude to Tinubu for appointing Governor Wike and other natives of the oil-rich state to key positions.

“We are not a lethargic people. We are abundantly blessed. Our path to prosperity lies in supporting one another and being good neighbors. I am not a President who will offer excuses,” stated Tinubu, as quoted by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.

“We will labor diligently for our nation, driven by purpose, determination, and unwavering commitment to generate wealth for all Nigerians. There is no justification for our poverty. We will press forward relentlessly.”

“Today, we may face challenging circumstances, but those same challenges will ultimately propel us forward. We will realize the aspirations and dreams of our forefathers. I am inspired by the people I now lead,” added the former Governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu, the Nigerian leader, who affirmed the trust placed in him to steer the country in a new direction, pledged to fulfill his government’s commitments to the nation.

“I am the leader and chief advocate for our country. We must reverse the prevailing conditions and attain remarkable possibilities within a brief timeframe,” President Tinubu emphasized. “Our citizens have high expectations, and I promise to labor earnestly, seeking divine guidance to avoid disappointing Nigerians.”

Tinubu also highlighted his government’s intention to prioritize the Eleme Junction-Onne segment of the East-West Road, which connects to the Port Harcourt Refinery.

He noted that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, serves not only as the Minister of FCT but also as his trusted advisor, expressing his confidence in Wike’s proactive approach to addressing this issue.

“The Honorable Minister, Wike, isn’t just the FCT Minister; he is also my advisor and an ardent supporter,” Tinubu added. “He has taken swift action, and I urge the state to support his efforts.”
