President Bola Tinubu has submitted an application to the District Court seeking to halt the execution of a directive issued by the United States Magistrate Court.
The said directive instructs Chicago State University to furnish Abubakar Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with access to Tinubu’s academic records.
Tinubu asserts that the magistrate court’s actions violated the constitution, as it assumed the role of a final arbiter in matters of discovery. He maintains that a magistrate’s duty should be limited to reporting and making recommendations to the district judge.
