In an official statement released on Sunday, Zainab Usman, the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation of Taraba State, announced that the state government will be offering a stipend of ₦85,000 to Corps members deployed within its borders. This stipend will encompass a medical allowance of ₦50,000.
Furthermore, Governor Agbu Kefas has granted approval for an accommodation allowance of ₦25,000 per term and a monthly support of ₦10,000 to be extended to these Corps members.
This decision has been prompted by the remarkable surge in school enrollments, directly attributed to the government’s initiative of providing free basic education, along with uniforms and essential learning materials.
The substantial increase in new student enrollments observed in our primary and secondary schools within the last ten working days has necessitated this immediate action.
