The Minister of Transportation, Mohammed Alkali, expressed strong disapproval of the methods employed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in the ongoing reconstruction of the Port Harcourt-Maidugur Rail Line.
During his visit to Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, on Friday, the minister conducted an inspection of the construction progress on the Port Harcourt and Ouigno sections of the Eastern Narrow Gauge rail.
Mr. Alkali voiced his disappointment at the foreign contractor’s reliance on manual procedures for laying tracks, deeming it inefficient. Furthermore, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the overall pace of the project.
