Dangote Clears Air Regarding Cement Price Reduction From ₦5,500 To ₦2,700

The management of Dangote Cement Plc wants to clarify that recent reports suggesting a reduction in the price of cement from ₦5,500 to ₦2,700, effective from October 1st, are entirely untrue.

Anthony Chiejina, Group Head of Corporate Communications at Dangote Group, spoke with the press, emphasizing that these reports are false and are being spread on social media platforms for the purpose of gaining attention and generating revenue.

Chiejina urged the public to disregard any information related to Dangote Group that does not originate from official sources.

Bashir Ahmad, the former presidential aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, also confirmed this through a tweet on Sunday evening, stating, “The Dangote Group has denied the trending reports that it has reduced the price of cement from ₦5,500 to ₦2,700 effective October 1st.”

Our correspondent, upon checking Dangote Cement’s official website, found no evidence of any reduction in the cement price.
