BREAKING: Tribunal Delivers Verdicts, Sacks Uba Sani, Declares Election Inconclusive

In a significant turn of events, the Kaduna State Election Tribunal has rendered its decisions in the ongoing legal battle between Senator Uba Sani and his challenger, Isah Mohammed Ashiru, both representing different political parties in the state, as reported by THE SPECTACLES.

Firstly, the Tribunal dismissed Uba Sani’s preliminary objection regarding the timeliness of the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru. This decision paves the way for the continuation of the legal proceedings.

Subsequently, the Tribunal also ruled to dismiss the case filed by Isah Ashiru, who was challenging the victory of Senator Uba Sani. This decision is a significant setback for Ashiru’s camp, as they sought to overturn the election results.

Furthermore, the Tribunal dismissed the evidences presented by Danjuma Sarki, who acted as PDP’s agent, along with five other witnesses. Their testimonies failed to sway the Tribunal in favor of the petitioners.

In a crucial ruling, the Tribunal concluded that the petitioners (PDP) failed to substantiate their allegations of result manipulation in Lere Local Government. This decision underscores the importance of presenting concrete evidence in electoral disputes.

The Tribunal also clarified that only the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has the authority to cancel results or votes counted in favor of any candidate. This ruling emphasizes the legal process in handling election-related matters.

The three-man panel led by Justice Victor Oviawe ordered a rerun of election in seven wards, four local government areas, 24 polling units consisting of 16,300 registered voters.
