FG Announces Application Opening Date For 3 Million Empowerment Programme

The Federal Government is gearing up to launch its ambitious digital skills empowerment program, which aims to empower three million Nigerians with valuable digital skills. The announcement was made by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, during a fireside conversation hosted at Moonshot by TechCabal on Wednesday.

Dr. Tijani shared that the application process for this program will commence on Friday and will be open to both trainers and individuals eager to enhance their digital skills.

This massive initiative will be rolled out in phases, with the first phase directed at empowering 30,000 Nigerians. Dr. Tijani clarified, “Our approach is not to immediately train 3 million people. Instead, we’ll begin by empowering just one percent of our target within the first three months.”

He elaborated on the structure, saying, “This initial one percent, equivalent to 30,000 people, might seem substantial, but we’ve carefully distributed this across the 36 states of the country.”
