Katsina Celebrates International Day Of Girl Child With Enthusiasm, Commitment

The Department of Girl Child Education joyously commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child on the 11th of October, 2023, at the esteemed Government Girl’s Technical and Commercial School in Charanchi.

This remarkable event received generous backing from the Katsina State Government, under the exemplary leadership of Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda.

The opening ceremony featured an enlightening welcome address delivered by the highly esteemed Permanent Secretary of the Department, Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Bakori.

The audience was further enthralled by the engaging keynote address delivered by the Special Adviser on Girl Child Education and Child Development, Hon. Jamila Abdu Mani, who eloquently emphasized the central theme of this year’s celebration.

To enrich the event, Mallama Murjanatu Ibrahim Duwan expounded on the Significance of Time in the Pursuit of Knowledge, while Mallam Aminu Sani provided invaluable insights into Effective Learning Strategies and the Attainment of Quality Knowledge.

Additionally, a select group of students from all twelve education zones participated in a quiz competition and delivered impromptu speeches, showcasing their intellectual prowess.

The event reached its climax with captivating speech presentations. Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, and also the representative of the Governor’s wife, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Umar Radda, shared their profound commitment to the cause of the Department of Girl Child Education and Child Development, assuring continued collaboration and support. Their unwavering dedication to the cause was evident in their words.

In recognition of the students’ hard work and dedication, some participants received Modi 8-inch Tablet PCs and custom school bags, complete with personalized exercise books. Others in attendance were not left empty-handed, as they received exciting educational souvenirs to further enhance their learning experiences.

This event was a testament to the dedication and commitment of all those involved in the promotion of girl child education in Katsina State.
